FILM OUT SERVICE

Metis Film Out Service (MFOS) is a film recording process that transfers your image onto 35mm film which was then scanned back into digital.

Digital clips are printed on film using a Arri Recorder and scanned back from the negative/print copy using an advanced color science mapping model.

The recorder is finely calibrated and adjusted to provide a modern, high-gloss, vibrant look.

Specification

We accept digital copy in Arri LogC/AWG format at 2K/4K resolution. The file should be done with only thecnical color correction.

Clients can request negative scan film for 2K or 4K digital clips.

We deliver the final digital files in DPX or ProRes 2K/4K format via web storage only. The final files is in cineon log/film gamut.

Q&A

How long does it take for a digital movie to come out?

For videos less than 5 minutes, it usually takes 5 business days after receiving the digital file. For longer videos and movies, it may take longer, starting at two weeks.

 

Can I request a file rescan?

We offer free rescans if the delivered files have visible artifacts due to an unstable film development process. If it is for creative reasons, we offer a paid service to rescan different looking developments at a reasonable price.

Can I obtain laser recorded film?

At this time, we do not offer original film stock.

Do I have access to the final delivered hard drive?

If you require, we can provide a hard copy of the final results at no charge. If the final delivery size is larger than 1T, there is an additional charge.
